Shivamogga District Congress Committee president R. Prasanna Kumar has demanded the resignation of Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan over the leak of NEET-UG question paper.
In a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Kumar stated that the Central government failed to conduct the exam and played with the future of over 22 lakh students. There had been many such instances in the past, and the government had exhibited its weakness to avoid paper leaks.
Instead of holding a re-examination across the country, Mr. Kumar demanded that the re-examination be limited to the States where there had been reports of paper leaks. Further, he demanded that the States should be allowed to fill up their seats by conducting tests.
Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent suggestions of austerity measures, the Congress president said that Mr. Modi’s statements exhibited the sorry state of the nation’s economy. The Centre should release a white paper on the status of the economy, he urged.
