Stocks to Watch Today, July 31: Indian shares are likely to remain stock-specific on Friday as investors react to a fresh set of quarterly earnings and key corporate developments. Companies including Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Swiggy, Vedanta, Mahindra & Mahindra, IRFC and Hyundai Motor India will be in focus after reporting June-quarter results.

While Tata Power, Maruti Suzuki, NLC India, HFCL and REC are expected to attract attention following major business announcements and project-related updates.

Q1 Profit Rises 12 per cent

Tata Steel reported an 11.6 per cent rise in Q1 net profit to Rs 2,318.5 crore, while revenue increased 14.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 60,794.3 crore.

Loss Narrows in Q1

Swiggy's Q1 loss narrowed to Rs 791 crore from Rs 1,197 crore a year ago, while revenue grew 37.3 per cent to Rs 6,812 crore.

Profit Jumps 28 per cent

Bajaj Finance posted a 28 per cent increase in Q1 profit to Rs 6,081 crore. Net interest income rose 23 per cent year-on-year to Rs 12,571 crore.

Revenue Surges

Torrent Pharmaceuticals reported a 3.3 per cent rise in Q1 profit to Rs 566 crore, while revenue jumped 54.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4,921 crore.

Vedanta

Profit Climbs 72 per cent

Vedanta reported a 71.8 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated Q1 net profit to Rs 5,473 crore. Consolidated revenue grew 53.6 per cent to Rs 24,205 crore.

IRFC

Profit Grows 10 per cent

IRFC reported a 10 per cent increase in Q1 net profit to Rs 1,927 crore, while total income rose to Rs 8,391 crore during the April-June quarter.

Profit Declines

Hyundai Motor India reported a 35 per cent decline in consolidated Q1 profit after tax. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 16,334.63 crore versus Rs 16,412.88 crore.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)

PAT Rises 34 per cent

Mahindra & Mahindra reported a 34 per cent year-on-year increase in Q1 profit after tax to Rs 5,455 crore. Revenue rose 28 per cent to Rs 58,188 crore.

Andhra Project Begins

Tata Power Renewable Energy commenced work on its 800 MW clean energy project in Andhra Pradesh, involving an investment of Rs 5,750 crore.

Transmission Projects Handed Over

REC said its subsidiary RECPDCL has handed over two electricity transmission projects to the successful bidders for execution.

Gujarat Plant Starts Production

Maruti Suzuki began commercial production at the fourth manufacturing plant at its Hansalpur facility in Gujarat.

Wins 900 MW Solar Order

NLC India said its subsidiary NIRL secured an order from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd to develop a 900 MW solar power project.

Secures Export Order

HFCL received a fresh export order worth USD 46.13 million (about Rs 441.53 crore) for the supply of optical fibre cables.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund acquired around a 1 per cent stake in Go Digit General Insurance from Peak XV Partners for Rs 139 crore.
