Supreme Court Orders Sonam Raghuvanshi To Surrender, Grants 3 Weeks In Honeymoon Murder Case

In a major setback for Sonam Raghuvanshi, the Supreme Court directed the honeymoon murder accused to surrender before the trial court while granting her three weeks to do so. A bench of the apex court also made it clear that if the trial in the case is not completed within six months, Sonam Raghuvanshi would be at liberty to approach the court again seeking bail.

The development comes after the Supreme Court indicated that Sonam had two choices: either face a hearing on the merits of her bail or surrender temporarily while key prosecution witnesses are examined by the trial court.

During the earlier hearing, the bench had expressed reservations about the grounds on which Sonam Raghuvanshi was granted bail by the lower courts and suggested that surrendering during the recording of crucial evidence may be the better course of action.
