USA and Pakistan are both tied on four points, but USA are above when it comes to the net run rate. Pakistan are placed third in the group. The Netherlands are fourth with 2 points, and Namibia are languishing at the bottom with no points.

T20 World Cup 2026 Points Table
Summary of India's one-sided win over Pakistan
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha had won the toss and elected to field first. India lost opener Abhishek Sharma in the first over. He was dismissed by Agha on a duck. On the face of pressure, Ishan Kishan stood tall as he struck a six on the first ball of Shaheen Afridi's over and expressed his intentions. Kishan dealt in fours and sixes to put the momentum behind India. India scored 52 runs in the powerplay. Kishan did not stop it even after the end of the field restrictions, and as a result, India's run-rate was past 10 even in the challenging conditions of Sri Lanka. He was eventually picked by Saim Ayub, but the damage was done as he scored 77 off 40 balls. Following the departure of Ishan, the run-rate decreased, but captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma played sensibly and kept ticking the scoreboard. However, Ayub brought Pakistan back by removing Varma on 25 and dismissing Hardik Pandya on a golden duck. India were 126/4 in 14.3 overs when Shivam Dube joined his captain. The two put on 33 runs together and ensured India reached a competitive stage. Usman Tariq, who was the talk of the town ahead of the match, got the prized scalp of the Indian captain in the 19th over. Rinku Singh played a valuable cameo of 11 runs in the final over, and as a result, India attained 175/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing 176, Pakistan lost its way early on as openers Saim Ayub and Sahabzada Farhan got out in the first two overs and captain Salman Agha also played a poor shot to get out. Pakistan were 13/3 after the first 2 overs. All eyes were on senior batter Babar Azam then, but he also got out playing a disappointing shot. Pakistan were reeling at 34/4 after 5 overs. Following that, Usman Khan and Shadab Khan forged a stand of 44 runs, but it was too little as the Indian spinners were controlling the tempo of the game. The wickets kept tumbling, and in the end, Pakistan got bundled out at 114 in 18 overs, losing the match by 61 runs. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy all had a successful outing with the ball as they picked up two wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Varma ended up with a wicket apiece.
Thus, a professional performance from Team India on the day. They have qualified for the Super 8s with this, and look a force to be reckoned with at the moment.
