Telugu officer takes charge as CPMG of Telangana Circle

 D.S.V.R. Murthy, an officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), has assumed charge as the Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

D.S.V.R. Murthy, an officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), has assumed charge as Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

A computer science engineer from Gitam’s Engineering College, Visakhapatnam, Mr. Murthy is a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh.

He joined the Department of Posts in 1998 and worked in many positions including SSRM, Air Mail Sorting, Air Mail Processing Centre, Mumbai, Senior Superintendent of Post offices, Bengaluru, APMG, Bengaluru circle office, Deputy Director, Postal Training Centre, Mysuru.

Later, he worked as Director of Postal Services, Chennai and Vijayawada regions and as Additional Director, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy (RAKNPA), Ghaziabad, Postmaster General-South Karnataka Region and Postmaster General-Vijayawada Region, Andhra Pradesh.

Before coming to Hyderabad as CPMG, Mr. Murthy was the CPMG, J & K Postal Circle.
