'Thought Everything Was Over, Got A Second Life': Noida Girl Apologises Again For Remarks Against PM Modi

The 15-year-old student who apologised for objectionable remarks against PM Modi says she was provoked at the protest, feels she has got a "second life" after his forgiveness.

The 15-year-old student, who had earlier apologised for making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, has now spoken publicly after the Prime Minister’s message forgiving her and urging society to guide “misguided children" instead of punishing them.

The student said she never imagined she would be forgiven and described PM Modi’s message as giving her “a second life."

She also claimed she was influenced by people around her at the protest, alleged that she is receiving threats, and said the police case against her has not yet been withdrawn.

‘I Was Provoked By People There’

The student said she did not make the remarks unknowingly but was influenced by the atmosphere at the protest site and by what others were telling her.

“I did not use those words unknowingly. I was provoked by people there. A lot of things were happening there, and people were saying many things. I felt that some of those things made sense. Then I spoke accordingly, the way people were speaking and as I was told. I was told that I had the freedom to speak and that the clip would not be posted."

She also recounted how she ended up at the protest.

According to her, she had gone to Connaught Place on July 23 and later learnt that a hunger strike was taking place nearby. Curious to know what was happening, she and her friends went to Jantar Mantar.

She said several groups and YouTubers were interacting with people present there.

“Many YouTubers were giving people microphones and asking them to speak. They were telling people to say whatever they wanted to say. When they came to me and asked me to say something, I asked what I should say and in what context."

According to the student, she was told she had complete freedom to speak.

“They said, ‘Say whatever you want to say.’ They told me that something wrong was happening and that I had the freedom to speak. Then I said those things. What I said was very wrong. I apologised, and I will continue to apologise until my apology is accepted."

‘PM Modi Forgave Me Immediately’

Speaking emotionally about the Prime Minister’s video message, the teenager said she felt as though her life had been restored after believing everything was over.

“I am very happy that PM Modi has forgiven me. It is a very big thing for me. In a way, I have got a second life. I made such a big mistake, and I never thought I would be forgiven. I felt that everything was over."

She said she broke down after hearing the Prime Minister’s words.

“He forgave me immediately. I started crying because the same person against whom I used such bad words has forgiven me. I used wrong words, and forgiving me after that is a very big thing."

In his video message, PM Modi acknowledged that both he and his late mother had been subjected to abusive language during the Jantar Mantar protest.

However, he said the children involved should be forgiven, guided towards the right path and allowed to learn from their mistakes rather than being dragged through prolonged legal proceedings or social harassment.

Alleges Threats, Says Police Action Continues

The student also claimed that her mobile number had been leaked and that she has been receiving threatening calls from unknown people.

“I am receiving threats from unknown numbers. Someone leaked my mobile number. I am being clearly told that wherever they see me, they will rape me and throw me into a drain."

She further said the legal proceedings against her are continuing despite the Prime Minister’s appeal for forgiveness.

“The case has not been withdrawn. Police came to my house even today and also came yesterday evening. The police are searching for me everywhere as if I have committed a crime. I only want to say that I am very happy that he (PM Modi) has forgiven me. Please, I will not be able to tolerate all this anymore."

The student’s latest remarks come a day after she issued a public apology over the viral video, saying she had been influenced by others and describing the incident as her “first and last mistake."

A Zero FIR was registered in Noida before being transferred to Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi, where further investigation was underway as the alleged incident took place in the national capital.

Earlier, Delhi Police had also registered an FIR regarding the circulation of the video, issued notices to social media platform X seeking its removal, and sought preservation of relevant electronic records as part of the investigation.
