Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended greetings on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, expressing his wishes for the well-being and prosperity of citizens.
“To all my family members across the country, countless best wishes on Mahashivratri. My prayer is that Adidev Mahadev always keep his grace upon everyone. Har Har Mahadev", PM Modi wrote in a post on ‘X’.
देशभर के मेरे परिवारजनों को महाशिवरात्रि की ढेरों शुभकामनाएं। मेरी कामना है कि आदिदेव महादेव सदैव सभी पर अपनी कृपा बनाए रखें। उनके आशीर्वाद से सबका कल्याण हो और हमारा भारतवर्ष समृद्धि के शिखर पर विराजमान हो।हर हर महादेव!

“By his blessings, may all be blessed with well-being and may our Bharatvarsh sit enthroned at the peak of prosperity", he added.
Earlier today, President Droupadi Murmu also extended greetings on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, wishing the nation continues to advance on the path of progress.

“On the sacred occasion of Mahashivratri, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all my fellow countrymen. My prayer is that the grace of Mahadev may forever remain upon us all, and that our nation may always advance on the path of progress", wrote the President in a post on ‘X’.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also wished citizens on the auspicious occassion, with a ‘Har Har Mahadev’ chant.
“Har Har Mahadev! Heartfelt wishes to all countrymen on the auspicious festival of Maha Shivratri. May Lord Mahadev, the God of Gods, bestow happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life", he wrote in a post on ‘X’.
Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to countrymen on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, wishing them a life filled with happiness, peace, and prosperity.
“To all fellow countrymen, heartfelt wishes on Mahashivratri. By the grace of Shiv-Shakti, may your life always be filled with happiness, peace, and prosperity. Har Har Mahadev", he wrote in a post on ‘X’.
Maha Shivratri — a prominent Hindu festival — is believed to mark the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. On this day, people across the country visit temples, observe fast, and offer prayers to Lord Shiva as a sign of their devotion.
