A woman has alleged that she was sexually harassed by a fellow passenger while she was onboard a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus in Bengaluru

A woman has alleged that she was sexually harassed by a fellow passenger while she was onboard a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus in Bengaluru. According to an official, the bus was travelling through the Manyata Tech Park area in Bengaluru.

The incident is said to have taken place on Thursday, July 23, along the bus route 500D/40. According to the victim’s complaint, accessed by CNN-News18, the accused touched her inappropriately during the journey.

The woman confronted the accused and complained to the driver, prompting him to step in. He immediately shut the bus doors to prevent the man from fleeing.

A video of the incident is being circulated on social media, showing the duo confronting the accused. Amid the chaos, the driver was seen slapping the man after the victim’s complaint.

The Bengaluru Police along with BMTC officials are investigating the matter and are working to identify if there were other individuals involved in the incident.
