CJP Protest: Preity Zinta had extended her support to Sonam Wangchuk and the protesting students. She urged the government to begin a meaningful dialogue with the activist and student bodies to prevent his health from deteriorating further.
CJP Protest: Amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) student-led protest over examination irregularities, a host of celebrities, including Preity Zinta have now stepped in, calling for peace, dialogue and compassion.
Taking to X, the actor said, "While it’s important to support our students and ask for educational reforms that positively impact the future of our youth, it’s also very important that peaceful protests by students are Not hijacked by anti national elements to create chaos & change the nature of the protest. Seeing so much hate & divide online makes me wonder if bad elements in & outside our country have already started to work overtime to weaponise the anger & frustration felt by our students."
"I have always believed in hard work, equality and excellence & that should never be compromised. I also believe in our democracy, law and order & our government, therefore I sincerely hope that both sides enter into meaningful & constructive dialogue & weed out any nefarious elements & agendas out of this protest & conversation , so the future is bright for our youth and for our democracy ! Extended support to Sonam Wangchuk
Earlier, Preity Zinta had extended her support to activist Sonam Wangchuk and the protesting students. She urged the government to begin a meaningful dialogue with Wangchuk and student bodies to prevent his health from deteriorating further.
She appealed to Wangchuk to end his fast, stating that his health was as important as the cause he was fighting for.

Actor Rajkummar Rao on Wednesday also called for peace, dialogue and compassion amid the CJP's student-led protest.
In an Instagram post, Rao wrote, “When young people feel unheard, it is a reminder that society must listen. Every voice deserves to be heard with dignity, fairness and respect. At the same time, peace must remain our greatest strength. Violence, from any side, only deepens wounds and takes us further away from meaningful solutions. This is a moment for dialogue and compassion."
Opposition MPs unite for CJP demands
Meanwhile, several opposition MPs have started staging a protest outside Makar Dwar of Parliament today to support Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) agitation at Jantar Mantar, demanding resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
