Glenmark touched a day’s high of Rs 2,249.30 on the NSE on Tuesday, after the USFDA approved a wider use of its allergy spray RYALTRIS.

The US Food and Drug Administration cleared RYALTRIS for children aged 6 to under 12 years with seasonal allergic rhinitis, a common allergy condition.

Until now, the spray was approved in the US only for adults and children aged 12 and above. The approval rests on a Phase 3 study of 446 children aged 6 to 11.

The trial found the spray eased nasal symptoms better than a placebo, and was well tolerated over a 14-day course.

Marc Kikuchi, who heads Glenmark’s North America business, called it ‘an important step in expanding access to RYALTRIS’ in the country.

This isn’t a new product for Glenmark though. RYALTRIS first got US approval back in 2022 for adults and older children.

Since April this year, the company has also taken over direct control of selling and marketing the drug in the US, a shift from working through a partner.

The spray is now sold in 56 countries, including the European Union, the UK, Australia and China, after entering 11 new markets during FY26.

The stock didn’t get much of a lift from the news though, it slipped through the day. At 13:07 pm on 21 July, Glenmark shares were trading at Rs 2,229.60 on the NSE, down 0.44% from the previous close of Rs 2,239.50.

The stock remains some distance from its 52-week high of Rs 2,474, touched in April, and well above its 52-week low of Rs 1,792.60 from last October.
