A video claiming to show detained Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters getting out of a police vehicle during a protest in Mumbai has gone viral on social media.

The footage appears to capture a youth quietly opening the rear door of a police van in which detained protesters were allegedly being transported. Seconds later, several people step out of the vehicle and run away as those nearby cheer.

The CJP’s official X handle shared the clip with the caption, “Hacker hai bhai hacker," in an apparent reference to the unidentified youth seen opening the van’s door.

News18 could not independently verify the authenticity of the video or the circumstances in which it was recorded.

The clip surfaced amid heightened tensions following the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi, where protesters clashed with police near Parliament. Delhi Police later registered an FIR in connection with the reported violence and vandalism during the demonstration, and several protesters were detained.

Led by activist Sonam Wangchuk and the CJP, the protest seeks accountability over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and demands the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The viral video has since sparked widespread reactions on social media. Police have not issued any official statement on the purported incident.

Social Media Reacts

Social media users reacted to the viral video with a mix of humour, appreciation and criticism. While some users praised the act with comments such as “Cockroach hai bhai… Cockroach," “Gen z intelligence," and “Loved it," others questioned the conduct of protesters and urged them to maintain discipline.

One user wrote that the Mumbai Police were “sweet at heart" and would not act against such incidents, but warned those “behaving irresponsibly at protest site in Delhi" that such actions could affect the image of the entire movement.
