Jantar Mantar Protest LIVE Updates: CJP, Centre To Meet Again Today As Pradhan's Resignation Demand Persists

A two-member delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday reiterated that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation remains a “non-negotiable” demand after holding talks with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh.

The delegation also sought a public apology to students who it alleged were “brutally thrashed” during the protests on July 20. Additionally, the CJP demanded Rs 1 crore in compensation for the families of those who allegedly died by suicide following the cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on May 3.

The two sides are scheduled to meet again on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

The Centre has taken a slew of actions, including strengthening the anti-paper leak law and terminating the services of up to 47 officials in the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Meanwhile, after being criticised by several social media users for ending his hunger strike, activist Sonam Wangchuk released a long video message where he asserted that he “did not cut any deal” with the government and ended the fast as he feared a crackdown against students and protestors at Jantar Mantar.
