Last summer, Justin Bieber returned with a surprise album titled Swag, which arrived with only a few hours’ notice after fans had spent years wondering when he might release another full-length. Only a few months later, he dropped Swag II, a sequel that extended his latest era. Between the two, the first collection became the more successful, and it earned the Canadian pop singer multiple Grammy nominations.
Interest in Swag surged again this spring after Bieber headlined both weekends of Coachella. Recently, he released two live albums tied to those performances. This frame, the studio set reaches a milestone the superstar has seen several times before, but one that remains momentous: a full year on the Billboard 200.
Justin Bieber’s Swag Reaches a Year on the Albums Chart
Swag has now spent 52 weeks on the Billboard 200, Billboard’s weekly rundown of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the United States. The roster combines traditional purchases with streaming activity, and as it celebrates a full year on the tally, Swag falls outside the top 40. The album slips six spaces from No. 40 to No. 46.
Justin Bieber Has Charted Seven Albums for at Least a Year
Swag is now Bieber’s seventh album to spend at least 52 weeks on the Billboard 200. The singer has placed 14 titles on the list throughout his career, and exactly half of them have now managed a year-long run.
Three Bieber projects have held on and found space on the tally for triple-digit stays. Purpose remains his longest-charting release, with 168 weeks on the Billboard 200. My World 2.0 and Justice follow with 130 and 120 frames, respectively.
Swag Reaches a Year on Three Billboard Charts
Swag reaches 52 weeks on three of the four Billboard charts where it can be found this time around. In addition to the Billboard 200, the set celebrates a full year on the Top R&B Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums rankings as well.
The project performs best on the Top R&B Albums chart, where it holds at No. 5. Swag has already ruled that genre-specific list. On the broader Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums roster, Bieber’s project slips one spot to No. 11, landing just outside the uppermost tier. Swag topped both genre-specific registers when it was new.
Swag Continues on the Streaming Albums Chart
The only tally where Swag has not yet reached 52 weeks where it can be found this week is the Top Streaming Albums chart. The full-length has spent 38 frames on that list, which details the albums that earn the most plays via streaming sites in the United States. This period, Swag drops outside the top 40, but only barely, as it currently settles at No. 41.
Justin Bieber’s Swag Singles Remain on the Charts
Several songs connected to Bieber’s Swag era are present on Billboard rankings. “Daisies,” perhaps the biggest track from the first of the two albums, continues to perform well globally. The single appears at No. 42 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 55 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which avoids sales and streams from U.S. listeners. “Yukon,” another major smash from the album, returns to the R&B Streaming Songs chart at No. 15.
“Speed Demon” Climbs on Billboard’s Main Radio Ranking
“Speed Demon,” taken from Swag II, is currently being promoted to radio across the U.S., and the song either reaches or matches previously-achieved high points on several airplay rosters simultaneously. The single returns to its No. 31 peak on the Radio Songs chart and holds at No. 17 on the Pop Airplay ranking, where it also returns to its loftiest position yet.
