Fresh CCTV videos have emerged in connection with the high-profile Lamborghini crash in Kanpur, with police saying the visuals are being scrutinised to determine who was driving the luxury car moments before it ploughed into pedestrians, injuring six people.

Investigators are examining footage from multiple cameras installed at nearby shops, traffic intersections and residential buildings to reconstruct the sequence of events and assess the vehicle’s speed at the time of the accident.

Officials said the recordings are a crucial part of the probe, especially since the first information report (FIR) has been registered against an unidentified driver.

The first CCTV video shows the Lamborghini car moving on the road before the crash.

In the second video, bouncers, allegedly hired by Shivam Mishra, could be seen running as soon as the crash happened, and the car came to a halt.

The crash took place around 3.15 pm on Sunday (February 8) on VIP Road in the city’s Gwaltoli area.

The vehicle involved was a Lamborghini Revuelto, an Italian sports car valued at over Rs 10 crore, which police have since seized and sent for mechanical inspection.

The black car bore a Delhi registration number, DL 11 CF 4018.

Eyewitnesses quoted by nws agency PTI described chaotic scenes as the speeding car first struck an autorickshaw before crashing into a stationary motorcycle, flinging its rider nearly 10 feet into the air.

The vehicle then mounted the motorcycle’s front wheel, dragged it for some distance and finally slammed into an electric pole, where it came to a halt.

Angry locals reportedly gathered around the car after the impact, forcing the driver to remain inside.

Witnesses alleged that private bouncers accompanying the accused attempted to push back the crowd, escalating tensions until police personnel arrived at the scene, rescued the driver and shifted both him and the injured victims to a private hospital.

Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal told PTI that the station house officer of the area, Santosh Gaur, was removed from his post for failing to follow due procedure after the accident.

Shivam Mishra, son of businessman KK Mishra, has been named by police as part of the investigation, though no arrests have been made so far.

His lawyer has claimed that Shivam was not driving the Lamborghini and that the vehicle was instead being driven by a hired driver.

PTI reported that Mishra’s family has also asserted that he suffers from epilepsy, prompting authorities to order medical tests.

“We then decided to subject him to a medical examination to check whether epilepsy or another medical condition could have contributed to the crash," an official said.

The police added that further action would depend on the results of those tests.

The FIR was filed on charges of rash and negligent driving and causing hurt, based on a complaint from one of the injured victims, Taufiq, who was thrown several metres and suffered serious leg injuries.

Police said the remaining injured sustained fractures and bruises, though all have since been discharged from the hospital.
