Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group will invest ₹600 crore to establish an integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana, strengthening India’s capabilities in critical aerospace and defence materials.

The facility, to be developed on 50 acres, will be among the few such in India producing high-quality nickel-based superalloys used in aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, oil and gas equipment, nuclear energy, medical implants, and emerging hydrogen technologies. Former CMD of Mishra Dhatu Nigam (Midhani) S.K. Jha will head the project. The facility, with an annual capacity of about 5,000 tonnes, is expected to begin commercial production in January 2028.

The plant will manufacture round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and other specialised products. It will house under one roof capabilities such as vacuum melting, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and other advanced forming processes.

With a significant portion of India’s nickel alloy requirements currently met through imports, the project is expected to support the country’s efforts to build a stronger domestic aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem. The investment was announced, by the company, on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence exhibitions.

Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group said the facility would advance its vertical integration strategy by securing access to critical raw materials for its aerospace, defence and energy businesses, while also serving the wider domestic supply chain. The company has already received customer support for product and process qualification ahead of commercial production.

“This facility is a strategic investment that strengthens our manufacturing capabilities while providing Indian industry access to world-class nickel-based superalloys,” founder and MD Vamsi Vikas Ganesula said in a release.
