DMK president M.K. Stalin on Saturday (July 25, 2026) condemned Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for “remaining silent and failing to console the family” of a lock-up death victim in Thoothukudi.
“Lock-up deaths are continuing in Tamil Nadu. When will the Chief Minister finally break his silence?” Mr. Stalin asked in a post on social media.
Mr. Stalin recalled that Mr. Vijay had once delivered a forceful speech questioning whether merely saying “sorry” could ever deliver justice, but was now choosing to remain silent instead of acting.
“Are the words accountability and apology missing from the Chief Minister’s dictionary?” he asked.
