Following a clarifications by Emversity, the University Grant Commission (UGC) has placed its earlier public notice, which was issued on October 8, 2025, on the grounds of violation of some rules, in abeyance on October 14, 2025.

Emversity has announced this on its website, stating that it is a private limited company and “has never claimed to be a university, higher-education institution, or degree-awarding body under the UGC Act, 1956.”

It further stated, “We act only as an industry partner, providing admissions-marketing support, industry-skilling, and training and placement facilitation under legally permitted arrangements with such universities.”

Emversity stated that being an approved training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and a recognised “Institutional Associate” of the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), Emversity is “positioned to assist universities with skill training and industry linkages.”

In its clarification, Presidency University, Bengaluru, also said that the UGC has placed the public notice in abeyance, following an in-person hearing held with the commission on October 13, 2025. Emversity submitted a detailed representation clarifying the operating model and role as an industry-skilling partner. “After reviewing the same, the UGC has accepted clarifications and placed the earlier public notice in abeyance. It has been taken down from the UGC website and is no longer active,” Presidency University stated.

On Saturday, students who have joined Allied Health Science courses at the Presidency University for the current academic year had staged a protest, questioning the collaboration, citing the UGC notice.
