UP Rozgar Mela: 10,283 Youth Get Jobs In 3 Days, Prayagraj Tops State With 1,185 Selections

UP's 3-day Rozgar Mela secured jobs for 10,283 candidates across 75 districts, with 830 companies participating, aligns with Skill India and CM Adityanath's Atmanirbhar UP vision.

Uttar Pradesh secured jobs for 10,283 candidates in a three-day Rozgar Mela held across all 75 districts from July 13 to 15, timed with World Youth Skills Day on July 15. A total of 830 companies from India and abroad took part in the drive, organised jointly by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM), the Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

How The Three Days Played Out

The drive rolled out in three phases. On July 13, Rozgar Melas were held in nine districts, Sambhal, Gonda, Sultanpur, Mau, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Unnao, Chandauli and Deoria. A total of 107 companies took part, and 1,071 candidates received appointment letters, with Deoria recording 303 selections, the highest that day.

July 14 saw the drive scale up sharply. Melas were held in 63 districts, with 689 companies participating and 8,912 candidates selected in a single day. Prayagraj topped the state, where 22 companies selected 1,185 candidates. Varanasi recorded 674 selections and Gorakhpur 317.

On the final day, July 15, Rozgar Melas were organised in Amethi, Pilibhit and Etawah. Thirty-four companies took part and 300 candidates were selected, including 138 in Pilibhit.

What Officials Said

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal said the state’s youth are now securing employment and self-employment through their skills. He linked the drive to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Skill India programme and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh vision, describing it as part of the “Sabko Hunar, Sabko Kaam" resolve.

Agarwal said 20 lakh youth have been trained and 12.50 lakh have secured employment over the past nine years. He cited a Rs 7,000 crore CSR memorandum of understanding with the Tata Group, the upgradation of 225 ITIs, new courses in artificial intelligence, robotics, drones and electric vehicles, and the Blue Dot Software initiative as measures connecting youth with companies.

Mission Director of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, Pulkit Khare, called the selection of 10,283 youth during the three-day Rozgar Mela a significant achievement under the “Sabko Hunar, Sabko Kaam" resolve. He said the state’s youth are now technically proficient and self-reliant, and that the mission’s aim is to give every skilled individual a direct platform to employment.
