US-Iran War News: The conflict between the United States and Iran intensified sharply after two American service members were killed and another went missing during an Iranian missile and drone attack in Jordan, prompting fresh US airstrikes and raising fears of a wider regional war.

Here are the key developments:

1. Two US Troops Killed, One Missing In Jordan

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that two American service members were killed while defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan. A third service member remains missing. Four additional personnel were medically evacuated and later discharged, while others with minor injuries have returned to duty.

2. Trump Orders Fresh Strikes On Iran

In response, US President Donald Trump directed another round of US airstrikes against Iran on Saturday night. According to the US military, the strikes were intended to further degrade Iran’s military capabilities and punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces linked to the attack on American personnel in Jordan.

3. Eighth Consecutive Night Of US Military Action

The latest operation marked the eighth straight night of American strikes against Iranian targets, marking the rapid deterioration of the security situation following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire agreement.

4. US Military Death Toll Rises To 16

The deaths in Jordan pushed the American military death toll in the conflict to 16. The figure increased earlier this week after a missing US Navy pilot was officially declared dead.

5. Iran Accuses US Of Destroying Ceasefire

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei accused Washington of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement reached in June. In a strongly worded statement, Khamenei said the US had exposed the “worthlessness" of its commitments and warned that Iran had “unforgettable lessons" in store for America.

6. Jordan Intercepts Iranian Missiles

Jordan’s military said it intercepted ten Iranian missiles that entered its airspace overnight. Authorities reported no casualties or damage, but the incident highlighted the growing risk of the conflict spilling into neighbouring countries.

7. Iran Claims Attack On US Air Base

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it destroyed at least two US fighter aircraft at Jordan’s Al-Azraq Air Base. The United States has neither confirmed nor verified the claim.

8. Strait Of Hormuz Crisis Deepens

Iran’s decision to declare the Strait of Hormuz closed has triggered major disruptions to global shipping and energy markets. The strategic waterway normally carries around one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas exports, making the standoff a growing concern for the global economy.

9. US Reimposes Pressure On Iranian Ports

Washington has reinstated restrictions on Iranian ports and maritime activity. CENTCOM said several commercial vessels had already been redirected, while at least one vessel had been disabled amid enforcement operations.

10. Global Security Alert Issued

The US State Department issued a worldwide advisory urging Americans, particularly those in the Middle East, to exercise heightened caution. Officials warned that the regional security environment remains highly volatile and could deteriorate further with little warning.
