CM Samrat Choudhary vows "mission" mode support as Agarwal offers "unconditional" help to build Bihar cricket infrastructure.

Responding to billionaire businessman Anil Agarwal’s call for Bihar to have its own cricket team comparable to leading IPL franchises, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday said that his government was working in “mission" mode to strengthen the “cricket ’emotion’ of the state."

The Chief Minister also welcomed Agarwal’s support for the Bihar cricket team.

Taking to social media platform X, Choudhary wrote, “I completely agree with you. For the cricket “emotion" of Bihar, the government is working in “mission" mode with a clear “vision." With your cooperation, a positive decision will certainly be taken regarding the Bihar cricket team."

What Vedanta Boss Said

Earlier in the day, Vedanta Group chairman and founder had highlighted Bihar’s contribution to Indian cricket and questioned why the state still lacked a major cricketing identity despite producing talented players.

“Don’t you think Bihar deserves an unparalleled team of its own, just like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders? The soil of Bihar has given the country many exceptional cricketers.

Agarwal Highlights Achievements Of Cricketers From Bihar

Ishan Kishan, born in Patna, scored the fastest ODI double century in terms of balls faced. Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Samastipur became the youngest player to make an IPL debut. And today, the eyes of the entire world are on the brilliant bowling of Saqib Hussain, born into an ordinary family in Gopalganj," Agarwal wrote.

The businessman also stressed the need for better infrastructure and opportunities for young cricketers in Bihar.

“It has always been my dream and endeavor to ensure that the youth of Bihar get full opportunities to excel in every field, and that our players receive world-class infrastructure and support right here in Bihar," he said.

Agarwal added that he was ready to extend “unconditional support" for the development of Bihar’s cricket ecosystem, calling the state “not just a state—it’s an emotion."
