De De Pyaar De 2 releases in theatres on November 14.
De De Pyaar De 2 trailer: It’s the year of sequels for Ajay Devgn. After Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again last year, Devgn had a string of sequels releasing in 2025 as well. It started with Raj Kumar Gupta’s blockbuster crime thriller Raid 2 before a damp squid in the comedy Son of Sardaar 2. Now, the trailer of Devgn’s next sequel, De De Pyaar De 2, is out.
The romantic comedy starts off exactly where the first part, which released in 2019, ended. In the climax of De De Pyaar De, Devgn’s character Aashish and his girlfriend, Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh), enter into an argument over whether he should meet her family for approval. The catch? As we discovered at the start of that film, Aashish is 50 years old whereas Ayesha is 26, almost half of his age.
In the trailer, Ajay’s character Aashish meets Ayesha’s parents, played by R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, and while they want to be progressive about the age-gap, all of it goes out the window as soon as they realise that Aashish is almost as old as Ayesha’s father. The trailer then introduces Meezaan Jafri’s character, who has been planted by Ayesha’s parents to woo her, so she can get out of her relationship with Aashish.

The first part revolved around Aashish seeking his estranged family’s approval for Ayesha, given their wide age gap. By the end of the film, his estranged wife Manju (Tabu) convinces not only their family, including their two kids, but also Ayesha herself to give Aashish another chance at love. The sequel will now see Aashish seek the blessings of Ayesha’s family.
While De De Pyaar De was helmed by Akiv Ali, the sequel is directed by Anshul Sharma. The story for both parts has been penned by Luv Ranjan, best known for hit romantic comedies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). He’s also co-produced the film under his and Ankur Garg’s Luv Films, along with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
While Ajay Devan and Rakul Preet Singh reprise their parts for De De Pyaar De 2, Tabu won’t be a part of the sequel. Jaaved Jaaferi, who played Aashish’s best friend and soundboard in De De Pyaar De, will also reprise his role. Other additions to the cast include Ishita Dutta, who famously plays Devgn’s daughter in the popular Drishyam franchise.
