Pradeep Ranganathan praises Dude composer Sai Abhyankar.
Actor Pradeep Ranganathan recently opened up about working with composer Sai Abhayankar in his upcoming film Dude, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran. The actor revealed how Sai’s viral hits like “Katchi Sera” and “Asai Kooda” convinced the team to bring him on board. He also spoke about realizing his long-time dream of singing in a film.
Talking about the experience of listening to Sai Abhayankar for the first time, Pradeep said, “There was a song called ‘Kachi Sera’. There was a time when, wherever you turned, you could hear only that song. The step had gone so viral. This went on for some time, and one day Keerthiswaran (the director) asked me who should do the music for the film. I suggested we try Sai; he seems like a talented guy. His songs tend to be hits now, and I really wish to work with him.”

Pradeep Ranganathan further shared how another viral song helped them finalise their decision. The actor said, “The director met Sai and came back and told me another song, ‘Asai Kooda’, is ready to come out. That song came out and again was a smash viral hit! So I told my director to get him right away for our film. But by the time we booked him and turned back, eight other producers were already standing behind in line to get him on board their films.”
He added, “All directors and stars want to work with Sai Abhayankar now. I can say this confidently. He is the next big thing.”
At the pre-release event, Pradeep Ranganathan also shared how he convinced director Keerthiswaran and composer Sai Abhayankar to let him sing in Dude. “The songs have come out great. I need not say that. Everyone is echoing that sentiment. Thanks for making me sing. It was a long-time dream of mine to sing. When I directed films, I used to send my composer lyrical bits in my own voice in the hope that they would listen to it and think, ‘Why can’t we make Pradeep himself sing?’ Since it never happened, I had buried that passion of mine away. I never thought it would happen to me again. Thanks, Sai, for giving me this opportunity.”
